Astrid Mueller's home town lies about 15 miles away from where Heidi, the girl from the Alps, supposedly lived. Astrid grew up in Switzerland, where she graduated from business school. It was not until she returned from a summer job on a guest ranch in Idaho that she started her design career - with a graphic design position at Swarovski.

After almost 5 years of business experience there, a multimedia producer diploma and several other creative classes, she headed north, and spent one artsy year at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, in the cold. Don't ask.

In April 2005, she opened her own business called PotatoMammaDesign. She offers many creative services such as illustration, graphic design, logo design and web design. Astrid's artworks have been published internationally in numerous magazines, books, newspapers, on greeting cards, in advertising, and more.
