Ode to Calef Brown
Marvelous illustrator and poet extraordinaire, Calef Brown.
I found his new blog back in June and excitedly gushed all over his comment box. He actually emailed me back and addressed me by name...Tricia (he said..."hi, Tricia" - OMG!) He sent me to an interview he did at Illustration Mundo for the advice I was seeking. Then he ended it like this...

Frizz, that's so cool Calef contacted you! I can totally understand why you love his work so much. His site/portfolio is awesome. I'm really diggin' those textures and lineart ... you could be his protégé!

Calef's work is GORGEOUS! Thanks for the cool new link, Tricia. I agree with Leeza...you are definitely in line with Mr. Brown's great work. After reading your entry, I may just have to gather up my courage and contact one of my inspirations.
