The Happiness of Frizzworld
Oh the beautiful simplicity that is a Frizz illo. Her banner is my current favorite. It gets all of my favorite aspects of her work just right. The simplicity, lines, just enough color and adorably mischevious animals.
Her animals have the most amazing personalities and are so at home in their own skin that you want to invite them over for an adventrous afternoon.
Here is another example:
and another one:
Do you see it folks? The mix of color, line and personality? How she doesn't feel compelled to color in every single thing? (totally unlike moi) How it gives her work such a frisky freshness?
(I really want to know if this turned into a finished piece, it is just that kind of wonderful)
She even does it in her line work:
(I really want to know if this turned into a finished piece, it is just that kind of wonderful) and her wonderful embroidery! (i will buy a bag, I swear on my paintbrushes)
So, Frizz- if you haven't sent off postcards yet, do it now-you will rock the children illustrating world!

love frizz's work! Her Billy Goat's Gruff work is absolutely fab!
Well put Courtney!
I agree — and her Web site reflects her work and personality too — which I am discovering is sooooo important for an illustrator, right down to the postcard and letterhead. (More about that with my post-conference notes)
Frizzie's work oozes a delightful charm that captures my heart as much my eye. I just KNOW she's going to be snapped up soon!
Ditto guys! I think Frizz's style is one of the most original I've seen in a long time. It's charming and oh so unique.
Oh, and like Courtney I hope to someday have my very own "Stitched by Frizz" art. :)
Thank you Courtney and all you girls for the nice compliments. I am so honored to be a part of this journey with such a wonderfully talented, strong and giving group of women.
I promise I will get out those post cards as soon as my tiling and stoning gets done.
