wow rebecca, this is great. a real portfolio piece. great mood and the mixture of styles works really well. I love the contrast between the swirls(great birds) and the detail on the kids! the dash of color is awesome too.
I really love the graphic quality of this! (I think the inspiration piece you mentioned on your blog did fantastic things for you.) This is so dynamic, and the contrast is beautiful. I really like how the birds are part of the overall swirling night, but the details I really think are beautiful are the girl's hair and earmuffs and the boy's hair and scarf. The lines are wonderfully delicate .
Holy canole is this beautiful! I want a print of this! The characters are stunning. I love the details in their outfits, (ear muffs, the hat..) They have a sad dignified quality about them that reminds me of English orphans for some reason, a really cool and different take on the usual interpretation of this duo. Love, love, love, love it. Also, I love it.
